Dear Marian Patients,
As you may know, Australia is facing a critical GP shortage. Despite our best recruitment efforts, we have been unable to find a permanent doctor to work at our Marian clinic. The Marian medical centre lease comes to an end soon, so we have made the difficult decision not to re-open the practice. We invite all current patients to attend our medical centre in Walkerston, which is a short 15 minute drive away. You may be pleased to know that Dr Deepa and Dr Brits are working at our Walkerston practice.
Our Walkerston medical centre is located at 13 Dutton Street, directly across the road from St John's Catholic Primary School (see map below). It is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. You can book online here or phone (07) 4959 2609.
The doctors at our Walkerston clinic will bulk bill all pension concession card holders and children aged 12 and under. They will also offer a discounted fee health care card concession holders. You must have a valid health care concession card which will be checked at each appointment.
- Dr Pava Deepa Balasubramanian
- Dr Susan Hodgens (currently not accepting new patients)
- Dr Htin Kyaw

For continuity of care, your medical records will be available to GPs practising within our network at our Walkerston & Ooralea clinics. Please feel free to also attend our Ooralea medical centre which has three experienced GPs including a highly qualified Sports Doctor, Dr Stephen Whiting. The Ooralea practice is located at 160 Boundary Road and is open from 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. You can find out more about our Ooralea medical centre here.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at our Walkerston clinic soon.
