The GPs at Family Health Care Rural View offer mixed billing. Consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation.
All new patients first appointment will be charged an appointment fee at the full rate. This includes children under 16, Pensioners and Heath Care Card holders.
After your first visit, most GPs at this clinic will then bulk bill patients with concession cards and children under 16. Please talk to reception at time of booking.
The following doctors at our Rural View clinic will bulk bill all pension concession card holders and children under 16. They will also bulk bill all health care card concession holders. You must have a valid health care concession card which will be checked at each appointment.

The cost of a standard consultation with a GP at Family Health Care Rural View is $85.00 and is exclusive of any materials fee charged for dressings, materials used in procedures, contraceptives, and certain vaccines. However, the doctor will charge according to the consult provided. A list of consultation fees is displayed in the reception and waiting areas.
A standard consultation time is 10 minutes.
A longer consultation time is 20 minutes. If you have numerous or complex medical issues or require a procedure, a longer consultation may be required.

At Family Health Care Mackay, we use a secure automated SMS system to communicate with patients about results. Depending on the test that has been undertaken, a consultation may be required to receive results. It is the patient’s responsibility to follow up on their test results, and we actively encourage our patients to be proactive in their healthcare and book an appointment for results before leaving the clinic.
Unless encryption is used, email is not a secure platform for communicating sensitive information such as test results. Also, to protect your privacy, you should never email personal information such as your birth date, address, Medicare card number, etc. to our clinic.
Yes, in most circumstances you will need to see a doctor to have a script written. Doctors have a duty of care and need to determine if you should be prescribed a medication based on various factors, or if you should continue or cease taking a medication they may have prescribed for you previously.
Regardless of the nature of your visit, you need to book an appointment with a doctor to ensure that you receive the correct level of care. Depending on your individual circumstance, you may also need to see a nurse either before or after your appointment with a doctor. Our reception staff can answer any particular questions you may have about your appointment.

Family Health Care Rural View is open between 8:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am to 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday. The earliest appointment time is 8:00am, and the last appointment for the day is 15 minutes prior to the closing time.
Yes, we have a large waiting room area where you can likely sit away from other people. Alternatively, please speak with our reception staff when you arrive, and they will arrange an area for you.

Dr Hemang is currently doing full body skin checks $165.00 for a full skin check, with a rebate of $80.10 for Medicare card holders.
If you only require a few moles/spots to be checked, his fee will be $100 with a rebate of $41.40 for Medicare card holders.
