Dr Steven Whiting

Dr Steven Whiting is an experienced Sports Doctor and GP, with over 20 years of medical experience. During this time, he developed an interest in Sports Medicine, and completed a Masters degree in Sports Medicine through the University of Queensland.

For the past five years, Dr Whiting has been based in Canberra as the Chief Medical Officer for the Canberra Raiders Rugby League team, as well as providing private outpatient clinic Sports Medicine services. He has served as Match Day Doctor during the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, travelled to Papua New Guinea with the Prime Ministers 13 Kangaroos tour, covered the Australian Schoolboys Rugby League tournament in 2019, and provided game day coverage for the WNBL finals series in 2019.

Dr Whiting's sports clinic is open to all sports-related medical issues in adults and children. Services include acute and chronic musculoskeletal injury diagnosis, investigation and treatment, concussion management, injury prevention advice and exercise prescription. He is experienced in the use of injection therapies (including cortisone, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and Hyaluronic acid), and can provide advice on surgical and non-surgical treatment options.

Qualifications
